The pen comes from the word "trimming" (in Arabic: "taqlīm") which means modification and distinction. A farmer trims a tree by cutting its excess branches and leaving its essential ones, thus modifying and distinguishing it. Trimming is very important for the tree to take on a beautiful and healthy shape. Therefore, the pen is what writes destinies in the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfūdh), and it nurtures creation with the wisdom of the Nurturer, who is God. The pen writes for you a destiny that distinguishes you from others by withholding certain things and granting others, which is the best solution for every human being, so that they do not get lost in the randomness of chaos, like a tree that is dense but barren, whose solution lies in trimming and grafting so that it "yields its fruit at all times by the permission of its Lord" (Surah Ibrahim, Ayah 25). Likewise, the pen works within you, removing excess so that you may produce the fruit that holds the essence. Hence, destinies chart the paths of beings with divine wisdom so they can bear fruit. As we explained previously, the importance of bearing fruit lies in its connection to the divine manifestation (the eternal, singular, radiant divine manifestation). The Names of God (al-Asmāʾ al-Husnā) have both sound and form, which manifest in water. The Divine Name is a fruit, its peel is its manifestations, and its core is its seeds. By realizing the essence of the Name, achieving it through intention, and embodying it with the use of water, you will bear fruit and achieve your desired goal.
If the Throne is the rulings of sovereignty, and the Throne is the foundation and law, as the verb "to enthrone" (in Arabic: "yʿrish") in its forms means to build, establish, and legislate, then law and throne are two sides of the same coin. His law is written in the Preserved Tablet, which is the eternal memory or the Akashic Records. The pen is the writer of those rulings in the Preserved Tablet, and it is what links causes to effects, titles experiences, and sets paths, as water takes any course you draw for it. Moreover, writing in water is effective for the Names of God, provided that the ink used for writing holds life, like the nectar of roses or the sap of trees. As we said, water responds to writing, meaning that it preserves the path drawn for it. From this, the pen writes everything for people, and knowledge of the unseen is written with it. To avoid dispute and argument, everything has been given its justice and its due measure. No matter how much you claim to know better, you do not, for He is most knowledgeable of eternal knowledge and knows what is best for you. We also said that al-Raḥmān (the Merciful) is the universal connection that unites and separates. It is derived from the word "womb" (in Arabic: "raḥm"), which is the connection between two or more entities. Al-Raḥmān – the Merciful – is the two hands of God (giving and withholding). The two hands of God, through the pen, give and withhold. The farmer trimming the tree is the best example. We are all one type (human), but we have not been trimmed in the same way. He gave me this and withheld that from me, and in this is great wisdom. Know, O seeker of insights, that God created the universe in layers. If you grasp wisdom from above, it is the same wisdom below. This is known to the Hermetists, as they say: "What exists above must also exist below." Writing preserves the path, as it is a restriction or drawing of a certain path. If you meet certain conditions, you can decree whatever you write. This is why we are talking about the pen. The ancient Egyptians realized this, so they inscribed in their pyramids. Although you cannot change the main title, you can expand and alter the subheadings. And know that God describes His actions for you to emulate in your life. If He adjusts, you should adjust; if He shows mercy, you should show mercy; if He writes, you should write, and so on.
